Well, the upstairs bathroom is roughly 99.9% finished. Just a little bit of caulking here and there, and some silver paint touchups to where the drain pipe goes into the sink cabinet, and that's it. I would have had those finished ages ago, but they're such small, nigh-invisible things that it's easy to get distracted by the bigger projects.
Just to keep you up to date, I thought I'd post a few pictures of the accessories that didn't appear in the last post.
1) We'd needed extra storage in this bathroom, but with the limited space had to think creatively. This piece is a custom 'chimney cupboard', built from scratch and distressed for that vintage look. The carpenter/designer is Don DuBois of
The Barn Workshop in Elkhart, Indiana. Don was great to work with, and had no trouble making our small modifications (longer legs, door hinge on left side) to his existing patterns. I believe he's also had some demand for our design already.
2) We also added some curly wall hooks (from Liberty Hardware, on
Amazon) and a tin mermaid sign (from TJ Maxx)!

4) And finally, here's the old-fashioned trash can (from America Retold, on
Amazon).

4) Put litter in its place. |
I'm not exactly sure what our next project will be, since we have several, but I'll continue posting here as events occur!
