Up in the Gutter
This previous weekend was all about yard work - trimming branches, pulling up weeds, nailing loose fence boards, mowing, and filling in topsoil.
However, I also took the opportunity to clean out (and cover!) the gutters. Since our front yard boasts a large maple tree, the porch gutters can easily fill up with maple seeds and dirt - and in no time at all you can see little tiny maple trees growing in them!
Our local Home Depot had several good inexpensive options for gutter covers (just over $2 for 3 feet lengths), and though I can't find the same model that I used on their website, no doubt you can find plenty of options at your versions of our 'big three': Home Depot, Lowe's, or Menards.
Though the instructions on the little sticker were vague and caused some pondering as to which side was the 'front', it was a pretty easy installation. I'm pleased with how they turned out - but I am wondering how long they'll hold out against the Chicago winds...
