Stairs

Here's a quick look at the stairs from the main hall downstairs to the upstairs rooms.  Though I really liked the wood as it was, Liz (and everyone else we questioned) thought it made that portion of the entryway too dark. If it had been the original wood we might still have left it alone, but it's just covering up the old plaster, so it got a coat of paint. Paint was, again, the Behr Eggshell Cream (same as in the living and dining room pictures from yesterday's post).

As you can tell, the overhead ceiling fan/light (not visible, but kind of ugly nonetheless) gives off a strong yellow light.  It too will eventually be replaced with another that has a more vintage look.
